Poggio al Sorbo is located in the middle area of Chianti Classico and is an ideal place to enjoy the relax, the nature, the history, with the opportunity to visit the quaint villages and ancient "Borghi" of the surroundings and the chance to reach two important towns like Firenze and Siena, only 28km distant.

The panorama may be admired from all around the borgo, on the hills covered from vineyards and woods
The farm produces excellent wines Chianti Classico, White wine, Rosè, and very good "Vinsanto di caratello", and organizes Wine tours at its own cellars, with visit at some rooms of the Mansion and wine tasting with tuscan "spuntini".

Bed & Breakfast open all year (closed from 20 December until 10 January).

Accommodation in Suites and bedrooms, carefully furnished with elegant Tuscan style.
Reception: to welcome with informations and reservations.
Breakfast room: Breakfast is served in a lovely restored room with original decorations in Montelupo ceramic and Murano glasses.
Tea room: room decorated with the typical "terracotta" from Impruneta, beautiful view, service in the afternoon.
Sitting room: with sofà and armchairs, art and guide books and newspapers.
Cellar: ancient cellar with stone vault with direct selling of the Farm's wines.

Historical notes about Poggio al Sorbo:
The original building was a military tower dated from 1200, and it is still possible to find its trace on the main wall: the ancient portal (XIV cent.), made in "alberese", limestone.
In the XV cent. the tower was converted into a Mansion and also nowdays it keeps the renaissance caracteristics of the high lacunar-ceilings, large volumes of its rooms, the typical sand stone decorations around the doors and the charming little courtyard with the old well.
The big entrance portal (drawn on the wines label) is dated 1600, at that time there was another addition, the stabbles for the carriages, now converted into a "Limonaia" (winter garden for lemon trees).
The long country stone-house surrounds the large square of the little "borgo", with the panoramic terrace and the fountain, the "sdrucciolo" (a small way to reach the pool), the formal italian garden, the park all around with the sculptures by Luigi Galligani and to visit the artist's Studio
